Meet Our Head Consultant and Trainer
Rachel Jacobs brings 30 years of experience as a former teacher, deputy head, university lecturer, education consultant and mum of 3.
She has a deep understanding of the holistic nature of child development, school curricula, high-quality teaching and developmentally appropriate learning. It is her passion for “making learning irresistible” and supporting hard-working practitioners and parents that drives every aspect of what she does at Leading Children.
“For any colleagues wanting to buy Rachel in, just do it! For Beckfoot Priesthorpe it’s been the best thing we’ve done!”
Diane Long, Deputy Head, Beckfoot Priesthorpe Primary School
“After last night’s training session, the emails were buzzing with positive feedback and ideas from the teachers. Today, I have been at both Brompton-Westerbrook and Byron Primary and both schools are full of excited teachers who have made tweaks to their plans today in order to deliver lessons with a reciprocal reading approach. I think that proves an amazing and instant impact of the training we had; the teaching staff are like excited little children!”
Jon Carthy, HT, Byron Primary School, Chatham, Kent
“Every 5 years or so, you listen to some training that you know is going to transform the way you teach and today was one of those days for me. Thank you — that was brilliant.”
Teacher, Brompton Westbrook Academy, Chatham, Kent
“The course has given the teachers the confidence and tools to help children learn maths in a way that will make them stronger mathematicians and more confident life-long learners. Thank you for the opportunity to learn alongside other schools in the district and for the lovely materials that many children will benefit from for many years.”
Nikki White, Executive Head Teacher
“Rachel has worked with my Foundation Stage over the last year with outstanding results. Her innovative approaches have transformed EYFS into a vibrant child centred learning environment, which has enriched the learning experiences for our children as well as giving staff the confidence to work together with a collective and unified aim.”
