Our life-like replica is called a Dromedary Camel.

Fun facts:

Also known as the Arabian camel, the dromedary is the smallest of all camel species and the only kind that has a single hump. Their counterpart is the Bactrian camel, which is larger and has a pair of humps on its back. A dromedary camel can drink 200 litres (53 gallons) of water in 3 minutes and in the desert heat they can last more than 5 days without drinking again.

Rachel’s Notes:

I believe our desert collection belongs in sand provision as a staple. I often see farm animals offered in sand play but can’t for the life of me understand why?! The sand tray offers a fantastic habitat for these creatures, especially when dry twigs, grasses and seedpods are added to make the small world environment more complex. Our desert collection includes 3 camels in case you need them at Christmastime!
