12 lizards fit nicely in either a small or a medium plastic jar.


Fun Facts:

Lizards drop their tails as a defense mechanism when they feel threatened by a predator. The loss of the tail is intended to distract and confuse the predator, which in turn allows the lizard to escape the threat.

Rachel’s Notes:

I lived in the Himalayan country, Bhutan in my gap year and there were little lizards all over the house. I used to name them to make them seem less threatening. One morning, as my alarm went off at 6 am I felt a thud on my pillow and when I reached up and switched the light on, George, who usually resided in the living room, (or one of his cousins), was staring at me, from my headboard!
